What is Platin?
Imagine how many people would use cryptocurrencies if they could see them with their own eyes and even touch them. At Platin, we combine location data with a lightweight and secure Proof of Location (PoL) protocol to make this possible.

Platin allows anyone to geo-locate a digital asset (cryptocurrencies, documents, images, etc.), anywhere on the map, anywhere in the world, in real time. This is made possible through open, privacy preserving zero knowledge proofs developed as part of the Platin protocol.

With Platin, any digital asset can now have a fixed location in physical space. This incentivizes individuals, organizations and large groups of people to move and interact with digital assets - and each other - in brand new ways.

Developed by a world-class team of professionals and academics experienced in blockchain, security, mobile and AR, Platin makes cryptocurrencies real and more accessible to the world through a decentralized protocol based on signal harvesting and incentivized location witnessing.

Platin’s protocol is interoperable and extensible, with the potential to transform every industry, from retail to humanitarian aid, from automotive to supply chain, security and more.

What is Proof of Location?
This site contains details about Platin Tokens and the Platin Network. To understand the full scope of our project please download our white paper.
Future Token Issuance
Platin will not issue any future tokens. The 1 billion PTNX tokens created during the token generation event will be the only PTNX tokens to ever exist.
Token Distribution
The Platin Token will be distributed to seven major participating groups in the Platin Network. This allocation is written into the TGE smart contract itself. Each of the following groups forms an integral part of the Platin ecosystem:
20% - Founders, Employees
For Platin’s core team, research & development, engineering, deployment, business development. Vesting: 1-3 years.

20% - Emissions
For Proof of Location witnessing, mining and participation in the PoL ecosystem.

30% - Token Sale (Private + Public sales)
For contributors participating in funding Platin’s token sale.

10% - Airdrops
For airdrops, long-term network governance, partner support, public works, community building, marketing, and more.

3% - Ecosystem Development
For support of community development of DApps on top of Platin’s protocol.

10% - Reserves
Internal reserves for the company's general and strategic use, investment and funding.

7% - Advisors
For Platin’s advisors. Vesting: 1-3 years.
Use of Funds
58% - R&D
15% - Marketing
10% - Business Development
2% - General & Administrative
2% - Accounting & Legal
10% - Management
6% - Misc
Use Cases
Airdrops (Commercial) Airdrops (Commercial) Airdrops (Commercial)
The ultimate foot traffic generating engine is the commercial airdrop of cryptocurrencies at select locations. They incentivize population movement while also providing an innovative way to acquire direct human traffic.

The negligible amount of friction caused when deploying Platin combined with its powerful incentives makes for an enduring use case on Platin's stackable secure location protocol.
Use Cases
Airdrops (Humanitarian) Airdrops (Humanitarian) Airdrops (Humanitarian)
Airdrop cryptocurrencies on communities in need and populations affected by natural disaster and catastrophic events.
  • Disintermediating middlemen - directly distribute aid in real-time ensuring fair & even distribution
  • No waste - unclaimed cryptocurrencies revert back to senders
  • No hoarding - blockchain policies enforce throttling, rate limiting & per wallet limitations
  • Fair - prevent bad actors from siphoning off humanitarian aid and funds before they can reach those in need
Use Cases
KYC & Address Verification KYC & Address Verification KYC & Address Verification
Financial and other institutions enforcing KYC & AML compliance can create single-use, individual airdrops to be claimed within a fixed timeframe for secure verification of physical presence.

Users complete secure address KYC based on Platins' PoL without having to upload easily spoofable utility bills.
Use Cases
Supply Chain Supply Chain Supply Chain
Every product has a story, as they have materials sourced in one location, assembled in another, and sold in still another. The location is a critical piece of information enabling trust of manufacturers, distributers and consumers to know the provenance of every component.

Certification, governance, audits and fair trade require this information as well. Platin proof of location is the simple way to solve this problem without middlemen.
Use Cases
Currency Geofencing Currency Geofencing Currency Geofencing
Currencies can be geo-fenced within a country's borders as decided by the issuing authority, with different usage fees applied according to region.

Federated user onboarding allows for quick distribution of a geo-bound national cryptocurrency based on the Platin PoL protocol.

Platin Differentiators
Security
High-value assets can be leveraged on Platin due to security being baked in from day one by our experienced, proven team of full-time cryptographers who are part of early core team hires.
Interoperability
Very flexible leveraging of existing infrastructure due to being hardware agnostic.
Coverage
Can be used anywhere on earth rather than limited to areas of prior deployment.
Standards
Platin uses proven, deployed and standardized ISO and W3C accepted standards such as Simple Feature Geometry and Verifiable Claims.
SolidityGEO™
Platin's new location-aware language called SolidityGEO™ enables the expression of complex regions and boundaries visualizing the location of any digital asset, such as a cryptocurrency, branded coin, or document, depending on the underlying business case.
Hardware Agnostic
Platin is hardware agnostic. Platin is a security- and privacy-focused entity in all regards.
Zero Knowledge
Platin has already released its first location Zero Knowledge proof integrated with Platin's recently announced SolidityGEO™ and will soon have ZK-Snarks and Starks implementations as well as new innovative proofs. No other PoL player has made any announcements on the subject of privacy preserving Zero Knowledge proofs or location blinding.
Tokens
Platin tokens are earned by sensor-harvesting, location witnessing, and staking secure nodes.
Custody and Governance of Proceeds
Platin employs industry best practices to secure its cryptocurrency reserves. These are largely held in cold storage at several locations and with secure, multi-sig hardware wallets. Platin's core team, close advisors and legal team are developing an inclusive governance structure that both drives development through a multi-stakeholder consensus driven process and has built-in checks and balances to make it extremely difficult for any party to make permanent decisions in a unilateral fashion.
